Dr. Carson Gee
Dr. Carson Gee is the new doctor at Amarillo Vision Specialists on Georgia. He is passionate and enthusiastic about providing top quality eye care for all his patients.
He was born right here in Amarillo, Texas and attended Amarillo High School. After graduating high school, Dr. Gee attended Abilene Christian University where he earned a BS in Biochemistry in 2014. While in high school, Dr. Gee gained an appreciation and passion for the optometric profession after a very painful UV eye exposure abrasion in a welding shop. This motivated him to excel in his studies and receive the honors of the Dean’s list throughout his undergraduate career. From ACU, Dr. Gee went on to optometry school at the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio where he graduated with his Doctorate of Optometry in 2018.
Dr. Gee spent his 3rd and 4th year of optometry school serving the people of San Antonio within the University of the Incarnate Word’s clinics. He also had the opportunity to give eye exams during a mission trip to Panama in 2017. He then expanded his clinical skills and passion for the profession during his externship in Memphis, Tennessee where he primarily evaluated patients for cataract surgery as well as monitoring those with any other ocular medical conditions including glaucoma, corneal dystrophies, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and many others. He also had the pleasure of getting trained by the current president of Texas Optometric Association, Dr. Jenny Terrell, at Community Eye Clinic in Fort Worth, Texas where he practiced in fitting several keratoconus patients with scleral lenses.
Not only does Dr. Gee realize how important your eyes are for vision, but also the importance the eyes play in evaluating systemic health. Dr. Gee is excited to return home to Amarillo and begin serving and providing his patients with excellent eye care. Other than working to provide quality eye care, he enjoys spending time with his wife and their three dogs outdoors hiking, kayaking, fishing, and skiing.
